JUST A CHANCE!

                 
                 CHAPTER   THREE!

                         PREDATORS!







        TWO WEEKS! I cried😥. How can they do that to me. Goodness me! You know what that mean? I guess you don't. Let me give you a hint; my phone will be seized, same with my video games, the TV set in my room will be disconnected and everything that will make me socially active, for TWO WEEKS! Not only that, any little thing I do (that is not right though) will attract punishment, even boiling water on the wrong gas cooker!😂

         Dad can be mean at times. And if he's out for you, then that's the end for you, cos you're finished! He's ready to take all tiny stars off your eyes and you know what that mean.

         Today, I got my result slip from school and thanks to God, I did just well. That would have been the next case on ground with punishment following,   like "no TV till you graduate" 😂.
         I know you'll be thinking, hmm! "What was Dave's result showing" right? Don't worry, I topped my class. Though I'm stubborn, I don't joke with my studies!😉
I kept my result slip on Dad's computer table in his personal study room. He came back later in the day. I'm so sure he was smiling and nodding when he was glancing through, with these thoughts going through his mind; "at least, he's good at something at all".

         Some one might be wondering, what about Dave's siblings? Don't they have part in my story? Or don't they exist again? Yes, they still exist, they still exist to cause more troubles for me!

        Few days after the devastating incident of mine, Dad and Mum were to travel to their home town. Before that, mum made sure to cook and refrigerate to make things easier for us, because I'm a FOODIE🍜😁. Dad didn't forget to remind me that the two weeks was yet to expire. His tone alone brought tears to my eye, which I wiped off quickly.
My parents were to stay for just three days ( meaning I have three days of partial freedom) so we were expected to be indoor through out their stay there. Don't worry, we're used to that, we're not kids anymore.
         I heaved a sigh of relief when the car drove off. I locked the gate and pocketed the keys. Wait! when I said I had "partial freedom" what were you thinking? Oh come on, I've got my plans. Me can't be bored.

        My siblings were watching a movie in the sitting room. I told them that I would be in my room and should not be disturbed till evening.
     "What if I get hungry? Suina asked
     "Maya will take care of that" I replied
     "There he goes again, what makes you my elder brother when I'm always doing virtually almost everything?
      "Maya, you're the....." Then I stopped talking right then because one of mum's rule was --- 'No discrimination, boy or girl, you must complete and partake in house chores whatsoever'. " Okay then, please Maya do me the favor.
        "In that case, I'll see what I can do, but that's not a yes though, cos I can change my mind".
She picks on me as a prey, acting like a predator each time she gets the opportunity to. She's got guts now, I'll deal with her later.
        "I'll be retiring now , go on with your movie show then.

I left them quietly straight to my room. I arranged my bed so well, same with my reading table, my clothes and wears. Then sneaked out of the house. Uh oh! were you expecting me to sleep when I've gotten such golden opportunity? Come on, I don't do that.
I got to the basketball court and joined my friends. We played and played and no one got exhausted. It was an interesting game and no one wanted to quit. Though after some time we all did and was set to go home. I checked the time and......

       "Oh no! I screamed as I washed out of the court, leaving them in confusion. They tried to stop me, but as flash, I was outta there.
        When I got to the gate, I said a little prayer before getting in. I made sure I locked the gate quietly. I tiptoed inside, opened the door as quietly as possible and locked it. I heaved a sigh of relief and turned to go. DAMN!  My siblings were standing in front of me with hands akimbo.
        "Hi" I said, rather foolishly
        "Hey, Big brother" they responded sarcastically.
         "Well, uhm I just went to get some fresh air outside, you know this house can be a bit hot at times"
         "Yeah, so hot enough to keep you outside for more than four hours Dave" Maya replied.
        "When Dad and Mum comes home, I'm gonna let them know. I'll write that in my diary" that was Suina.
        "Oh come on, please don't tell them. I'll do whatever you want I promise".
They looked at themselves for some time and smiled. What are they up to again, I thought. This kids wanna mess me up, gosh!
       "Alright, this' what you're gonna do"

And guess what they they told me to do. I was to clean the house till my parents return. Not only that, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be prepared by me. Washing of plates and kitchen utensils will be done by me too. In conclusion, I did everything in the house for those three days. They really dealt with me as a predator they are.
When my parents came back, everything went back to normal.
